This particular expression brings together malt whisky from Craigellachie and grain whisky from Cameronbridge, alongside helpings of whisky from Clynelish and Laphroaig, as well as a Highland malt blend. The blend was married in an ex-Clynelish cask for 15 months before being bottled up at 49% ABV. Approachable but still deliciously complex, with familiar Clynelish waxy notes shining through, this one is most certainly superb!
Nose Runny honey and stone fruit sweetness, followed by cinnamon, waxy richness, and a lick of furniture polish.
Palate Ripe apple, creamy coconut, and oaky vanilla, with a saline hint balancing out crushed flowers.
Finish A lengthy, structured finish, with tannic oak and another generous drizzle of honey.
Wonderful poured into a tumbler or wine glass pre- or post-dinner, maybe witha splash of water. The added weight of Glasgow Blend will bring extra depth to whisky-based cocktails.
